Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted October 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2017 I can't recall as I been on many cruise lines and ships but does RC show you the points you accumulated when you place your sail and sign card in the slot machine? When you go on a comp casino cruise, do we board with our status (I am emerald) or do you board with a group of other comp casino passengers? When you receive your casino comp certificate in your cabin the last evening, I realize you have to book within 30 days, question, has anybody booked one of the comp cruises on the list and eventually cancelled for a much later one that was offered? What happens if we can't make the one we chose, are we able to change it to another one or do we loose the offer entirely? Were booked on a comp cruise next week, we love paying the gratuities before the cruise, in advance, are we able to do this or do they place the gratuities nightly on our bill? Does the casino give our lanyards or should we bring our own? Thank you!
mattpro Posted October 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2017 Can answer a few questions Boarding is regular - nothing special. I have always prepaid taxes, port fees and gratuities. I have used comp amount for future cruises against already booked cruise(s) - even past the 30 day window and on other cruises not listed on their form. Call Casino Royale and they will take care of you - in a very friendly helpful way with your best interests in mind.
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted October 19, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted October 19, 2017 Hum.....so there may be other cruises past the March 2018 list. I guess I just have to ask?
Ready 2 Cruise Posted October 20, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 20, 2017 Hi, I can answer a couple. You board with your status, no special casino group. The casinos no longer give lanyards. We were on the Enchantment last week and the casino host told us that the new "no lanyard" policy was fleet-wide. Yes, Your points will show on the machine when you insert your card. We have used our certificates out past the 30 days with little to no problem. Our cruise last week and the 4 we have upcoming are all comped cruises, from the 'lists' but we have previously used our comp amount against the cost of a more convenient cruise. If you spend enough to get a free cruise, they're not going to say no to taking more of your money, lol Have fun!
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted October 20, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted October 20, 2017 Thanks for that.....I was hoping the new list would go past march 2018 but heard it remains the same list, but what I do, when I get off the ship if the list is the same I just take the 1k and apply it to an April/May cruise. Many thanks for the answers!!
bean24 Posted October 20, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 20, 2017 We only got a few hundred dollars off of our cruise through the program, but I was able to book Alaska in July 2018 no problem Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted October 20, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted October 20, 2017 I have a question, if my other half on the Oasis comp cruise next week receives a certificate for another comp cruise, my father in law most of the time travels with us as he is a widow, so if we take a comp cruise is it possible to get another cabin and get a discounted rate for the other cabin, we pay for our father in laws cabin? We attempted to use our 2 certificates for 2 cabins in order to take our in-laws with us, one with each of us. They would not allow it, telling us that you couldn't use separate certificates for separate cabins within the same family. We ended up using DH's certificate to upgrade to a JS (waste of a certificate imo).
mattpro Posted October 20, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 20, 2017 Booking another room Unfortunately your credit can not be used for this. They only allow it for certificate holder and they only allow you to be in one room at a time on a cruise.
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted October 20, 2017 Author #10 Share Posted October 20, 2017 I am sorry didn't explain myself well, I don't mean using our credit to give him, I mean to purchase a stateroom for him but would we be able to get a casino rate for the cabin we pay for...in other words, use the comp but pay for another stateroom for dad and be able to get a discounted casino rate? Just asking, I gather the answer is no since my other half is the one who gets the offers and he won't be in the stateroom?
Ready 2 Cruise Posted October 20, 2017 #11 Share Posted October 20, 2017 Yes, you can get the casino rate for the 2nd cabin. That is what we did. Our casino consultant had to check with her supervisor first but we got the casino rate. If they tell you no, ask for the supervisor. Don't forget that as a Casino Comp guest, your DH will get free drinks in the casino. Because of that, we saved money by not buying drink packages
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted October 20, 2017 Author #12 Share Posted October 20, 2017 Than you for that info! We already purchased the ultimate drink package for both of us, mainly because even with the free drinks card, you only can get the drinks in the casino and not in all the other areas of the ship, am I correct? maryjaden Posted October 20, 2017 #13 Share Posted October 20, 2017 With the flux in rolling out the new casino program over the past two years, several of the perks are no longer available. We used to be able to book a 2nd cabin using casino rates. We did this booking during the summer of 2016. When I called this year I was told that was no longer allowed. Also, if your spouse does not gamble, they were unable to get the free drinks. However if both spouses get a certificate and you want to book 2 cabins, just book each spouse into a different cabin to get the discount and then switch on board. No, they will not allow each spouse to book their own cabin using certificates. That is exactly what we tried to do. CruiseGirl6 That is correct, only in the casino. We did stop by before dinner and picked up a cocktail to take with us. We have always purchased the drink package but after keeping track found that we weren't drinking enough, cocktails, juices, coffee and bottled water to make it worth $759 for 7 days. We'll see how no package for a 7 day cruise works tomorrow lol ;)
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted October 20, 2017 Author #15 Share Posted October 20, 2017 Let me know how you made out, whether its worth getting the package or not, for us, it is....
RFerrington Posted October 20, 2017 #16 Share Posted October 20, 2017 No, they will not allow each spouse to book their own cabin using certificates. That is exactly what we tried to do. Maybe I'm not understanding but how would they even know if I booked a cabin using my certificate and had my father as the second person and then my husband used his certificate to book a cabin and had my mother as his second ? Because based on the information they have from your prior cruise(s), crown and anchor status, etc. they know you are married. I was told one certificate per family, per sailing although they did allow us to use my husband's certificate (mine was worth more) to upgrade to a JS, on the Harmony. Ready 2 Cruise Posted October 21, 2017 #20 Share Posted October 21, 2017 ;p how do you find out your level in the casino?thanks You can just ask the casino host and they will look it up for you. Some casinos have signs showing what the comp point levels are (paper sign at the end of the machine bank) and you can determine your level based on the points shown on a machine after you insert your card. trivia nut Posted October 23, 2017 #21 Share Posted October 23, 2017 We only got a few hundred dollars off of our cruise through the program, but I was able to book Alaska in July 2018 no proble Hi Michelle from Pat and Bill. Hope all is well. Our Grandson Graham( age 2) broke his leg on a moon bounce, but is handling the cast quite well. Big Sis Tessa(age 8) has been a big help to him. Hope we get to cruise together in the near future. Our money has been going to Disney World lately. Hello to Paul, Scotty and your folks. Take Care, PAT
