Upgrade bid offer

We got an offer of a chance to bid for an upgrade today. What kind of luck have people had? We'd try for a mini-suite, but apparently you can't choose or turn down a cabin; if they accept the bid it automatically goes through. Has anyone gotten a bad cabin when doing this? We are on the Getaway, in a balcony for now.

 

I definitely wouldn't bid much, probably the minimum since it's not that big a deal to me.
