Pier 66 Ft. Lauderdale

Does anyone know the current status of the Pier 66 hotel in Ft. Lauderdale?

 

It is not a Hyatt anymore and currently closed but we have a reservation for January.

 

Is it under renovation and a big construction side? Thanks for any update!

There are a couple of recent reviews on Tripadvisor since the hotel re-opened, and they're not too favorable at this point.

I talked to Pier 66 yesterday, and finally found the answer I was looking for! The tower is closed due to structural damage, and won't be re-opened in January. We had reservations pre and post cruise there too. Years ago we stayed in a Marina view room, and it was dark and smelled bad, so after that we always stayed in the tower. Unfortunately I had to cancel our January reservation and am in the process of looking for another.....
