dpostman Posted November 8, 2017 #26 Share Posted November 8, 2017 If I can figure out how to add pics, I'll do it. I think I attempted photobucket before but it didn't go well! Yep, I've been through the photobucket mess myself. I use Google Photo now. I created a shared Album and any photo I want to share on a forum dump in that album and use that image location. That solution has been working fine since. Good luck dp

wolfganghowell Posted November 9, 2017 Author #28 Share Posted November 9, 2017 Yes - you still have to get your food in the Windjammer but you can eat in Giovanni's and avoid the chaos. Have fun!
BonTexasNY Posted November 9, 2017 #29 Share Posted November 9, 2017 Hey, Wolfie, great to see your review. Sounds like you had a great time with your friends. Always liked your writing style. Full of wit and honesty. You missed us by one month. We'll be on Lady Liberty on Dec., 3rd, THAT cruise, the one that now only has one port, Nassau. AND how POd my DH is to learn that the casino will be CLOSED for two consecutive days. Read that as two nights also. Shops closed. What WILL we do?? And we will miss Derek too. Does Phil in the Schooner still do lots of C&W? Did you hear of any problems earlier diners had with MTD? My group of 6 plan on eating approx. 6:45ish. We can't wait to laze around the pool deck, solarium. An adult beverage, my kindle.. ahhhh sublime. Waving at msublonde who is on our cruise! Hopefully, we will eventually meet up on a cruise. wolfganghowell Posted November 9, 2017 Author #31 Share Posted November 9, 2017 Aww Bonnie - we keep missing each other! Yeah, that Nassau cruise seems a bit blech. But you can always head over to Atlantis! Phil seemed to be doing the usual music. He had a few passengers sing with him - most were really good. Yep - still mainly C&W but also the typical piano bar stuff. I didn't see or hear any MTD issues. However, we requested and got the same table 4 nights so we just walked right in. We did see people sitting in chairs in the entry waiting to be seated - not sure if they had reservations or not. I do think the food quality improved. My suggestion is if you like your waiter to request the same table each night at the same time. That way you don't have to stand in line to go in - we just marched on in. :)
cruiseSEA52 Posted November 9, 2017 #32 Share Posted November 9, 2017 Do they have any extra food options for Suite guests at breakfast/lunch, or is it just a place to sit now?
wolfganghowell Posted November 9, 2017 Author #33 Share Posted November 9, 2017 Suites still have breakfast in Giovanni's. It is made to order - standard breakfast menu - eggs, omelettes, eggs benedict, pancakes, french toast. We had good quick service 4 out of 5 times. Nothing for lunch since Giovanni's is open for lunch on sea days now.
BonTexasNY Posted November 10, 2017 #34 Share Posted November 10, 2017 Yes, we will try to book MTD the same time and hopefully with a great wait staff. No begging for a 10 rating, just fast, efficient and engaging. We're not C&W fans. I remember the band Synergy either on Voyager or Mariner. MY kind of music; classic rock, oldies, Motown, Doowop. We all sang along, danced, acted silly and didn't want it to end. This was in the large lounge. Not sure of the name? I think an Egyptian theme? Besides Bolero's, Schooner, what other music was there? Hopefully, when we return I can post a review as entertaining at this one.
wolfganghowell Posted November 10, 2017 Author #35 Share Posted November 10, 2017 We never went by the pub at night to see what the music was. Our friends told us the disco was hopping with the DJ playing some great music. Yep - I remember Synergy - they were great. Our waitstaff Mohammed and Antonio were fantastic. I bet they move them around but our week they had tables 307 and 309.

poohtaz Posted November 11, 2017 #37 Share Posted November 11, 2017 Always enjoy reading your reviews! So I'm debating over Mr Sanchos and Nachi, and from what you wrote, it sounds like Mr Sanchos has the better beach correct?
wolfganghowell Posted November 12, 2017 Author #38 Share Posted November 12, 2017 Pooh - I do find Mr Sanchos less rocky and a bit easier to get in and out of the water. We did the AI side and I think their pools are nicer. It is more crowded than Nachi. It really depends on what you want. We like both places. wolfganghowell Posted November 15, 2017 Author #39 Share Posted November 15, 2017 Note to cruisers on this itinerary. Costa Maya had 3 ships in port and it was crowded!!! Cozumel had 6 ships I believe so expect crowds wherever you go. Nachi and Mr Sanchos AI were both sold out. So make your plans for those ports.
