cruiserdudebobby8 Posted November 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2017 Hello All, I'm looking at possibly booking a cruise on Anthem of the Seas to the Bahamas. I'm looking to know if Nassau or CoCoCay have the following excursions. 1. swimming with the dolphins 2. Snorkeling also, What excursions would you recommend for a couple? Mid43 Posted November 8, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2017 Nassau has a Blue Lagoon dolphin excursion which is pretty nice, I believe there might also be a snorkeling excursion at this port; CocoCay does have a snorkeling excursion.
reallyitsmema Posted November 8, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2017 No need to do an excursion to snorkel at Coco Cay, bring your own stuff if you have it and just go out near the lifeguard stand out in the water. You can rent snorkel equipment if you don't own any, but paying for an excursion isn't necessary.
BNBR Posted November 8, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 8, 2017 Blue Lagoon dolphin excursion will be great. Definitely do that if you are interested in swimming with dolphins. There is plenty to do at both stops, you'll have a great time.
SailingSal Posted November 9, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 9, 2017 We were just at Blue Lagoon. We had been in Nassau quite a few times and this was our first time to Book Blue Lagoon. It was Great! Great Beach and staff. Go to their web site and book from there or take an excursion from the ship.
dpostman Posted November 9, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2017 There were lots of snorkelers in CocoCay. We were doing a Scuba excursion and had to swim past all the snorkelers on the way out and back in. I assume most of them has just rented gear as they all looked alike and it did not seem organized enough to look like an excursion. I remember there was a National Geographic themed snorkeling excursion that included Gear that you end up keeping after but it seemed very expensive to me for what you end up getting. dp
mikebz Posted November 9, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 9, 2017 I will put in a vote for Blue Lagoon as well. We went there for the sea lion swim, but they also had a dolphin swim and ray swim, in addition to a beach. The staff was great for the sea lion swim, so I am going to assume the staff was equally good with the other interactions. From the description, my wife did not think she would enjoy it, but I signed her up anyway. Bottom line, she thought this was the best excursion she ever did. So, I would say book the tour. We did the tour through the ship due to a limited time in port. If we had more time, I would book it direct. The ferry ride to Blue Lagoon takes about 30-45 minutes each way.
