Totally disagree with the OP and do not understand why he/she thinks in terms of cruising out of NY/NJ. Yes, baby its cold outside. So take yourself over to JFK, jump on a flight to Dubai, relax for a couple of days (baby, its hot outside) and then go aboard the Regent Seven Seas Voyager for a short 33 day cruise to Hong Kong. And if that doesnt sound good why not just fly to downunder where its wonderful spring time...and take a cruise.

 

It is a big world and the weather is always good somewhere :).

You have to remember that you are on a forum where many people moan about not getting a rebate if the fare goes down by a few dollars after they made final payment. A flight from New York to Baltimore might torpedo their budget.

Where are you headed - please give feedback re: condition of ports.

Cozumel, Belize, Roatan, Costa Maya. Having never been to the Western Caribbean I won't be able to compare, but I will indicate obvious impacts if any (though I doubt I'll see much).

LOL, that thought had occurred to me. But the OP has to understand that not everyone is in that situation. And by the way, we did once cruise on a RCI ship out of Bayonne when there was snow/ice on the decks as we boarded the ship. The cruise was fantastic :). And to tell the truth, cruising for a month on Regent would torpedo my own budget.
