Price drop/upgrade

We booked a cruise on the dream for next December. Any idea when we should start watching for price drops/upgrades?

Generally speaking, either right before or after final payment date for the sailing is when unsold (or cancelled) cabins come available and the cruise line decides whether or not to offer price drops. The upgrades may come even later.

Hi there

 

Typically I will start looking regularly soon after I have booked. Weekly, daily, hourly :D, whenever you can. The price can fall and rise again within the same day.

 

It only takes a few minutes to check, if I am at a computer and not busy, I'll take a look. Like you said looking for an upgrade is an option as well. Since the prices for different cabin classes don't move uniformly, you might find a better cabin class available for a smaller extra amount than when you booked.

 

Don't forget prices don't always go down, even booking a year out. Sometimes they go up and never go down. So if I see the trend going only up and the prices are well above the price I paid, I would only look weekly or monthly, just to make sure they are not turning around again.

You can always set an alert through cruisef......sh if you don't want to bother to look all the time !
