cruisingrammie Posted December 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2017 Ok, so I am aware that the electrical plugs on all of HAL's ships are the US kind of plugs. HOWEVER, are they the two prong plugs or do they have the 3 prong grounded plugs? We need to know if we need to bring an adapter for our cruise in January! Thanks everyone! JennysUncle Posted December 24, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 24, 2017 I'm not certain, but I think that Maasdam has a Euro-style 220V outlet next to the US outlet on the desk. So, a tip -- you can use it to charge a dual-voltage phone etc if you bring a Euro-to-US adapter plug. Also - there is only one US outlet, but you can plug in a "cube tap" (3-way adapter) and plug in a couple of items. Another note - there is a dual voltage outlet in the light fixture in the bathroom, but it shuts off when the light is off so it is no good for a night-light. Rare rafinmd Posted December 24, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 24, 2017 One other thing--I'm pretty sure the Euro and US outlets are right next to each other so you can use both outlets OR a 3-way tap, but the 3-way tap will preclude access to the other outlet. I find I can keep the bathroom light on and keep the door closed at night and it works fine for me. Roy
