Damikaan Posted January 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Our Royal Caribbean ship will be arriving in Quebec City and then staying overnight there before we have to disembark the next day. Will the disembarkation be the normal times or can we get off earlier than usual since we have already been in port for 24 hours? We are trying to catch the VIA train to Montreal and wonder if there is any way we can make the 8:15 AM train. The train station is just a few minute taxi ride from the pier. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks!
Kamloops50 Posted January 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2018 You'll be able to disembark anytime after the ship has cleared customs and immigration.
Damikaan Posted January 21, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted January 21, 2018 Since we are docked in Quebec City for an entire day before the cruise ends, do they clear customs the day of arrival or do they do it the morning of disembarkation?
Kamloops50 Posted January 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2018 It probably will clear customs. If the ship has stopped in other Canadian ports. Only immigration will be required.
Grant2000 Posted January 28, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 28, 2018 One thing to consider is where your cruise ship is docked. If it is docked at the main cruise terminal, you shouldn't have a problem getting an early morning taxi. If, however, it is located at a dock further away, you might have to wait a while for a taxi. That said, the distance from the port to the train station is not far at all. https://cruiseports.ca/canada/quebec-city-cruise-port.html
Damikaan Posted January 30, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted January 30, 2018 Thanks for the replies! We decided to just rent a car so we don't have to worry about catching the train at a certain time. Thanks for the cruise port link Grant2000; that gives some very helpful info.
princeton12321 Posted January 30, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 30, 2018 The ship will have to clear customs and immigration on arrival day before anyone is allowed off the first day so you’ll have no problem disembarking as early as you’d like the second day. Only thing is you might need to carry off your luggage early.
Damikaan Posted January 30, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted January 30, 2018 Thanks Princeton, that is exactly what I was trying to figure out.
jules0819 Posted June 30, 2018 #9 Share Posted June 30, 2018 We are planning on staying on the ship until they make us get off. Do you know what time we will have to have our luggage off on the last day (after having spent the night there)?
Nitemare Posted July 1, 2018 #10 Share Posted July 1, 2018 Your cruise documents should tell you this. Most cruises disembark by 10AM

Do you know what time we will have to have our luggage off on the last day (after having spent the night there)? It usually follows a normal disembarkation like you had arrived that morning with the exception that there are a lot more self disembarkations and people who leave the ship the day before.
