Celebrity Silhouette - March 4th - 11th

I saw multiple negative comments about the quality of recent Celebrity Cruises, and I have to say most of the negativity is wrong.

I saw many complaints about “up-selling”. Yes, you will be asked multiple times throughout the cruise about specialty dining, drink packages, etc. However, a simple “no thank you” is all that it takes each time. I had absolutely no problem with being asked to purchase anything. They always respected “no” as an answer.

Food - the food was outstanding everywhere! We ate at the MDR, Sushi on 5, and QSine and all were outstanding. Sushi on 5 was by far the best (I didn’t even know I liked sushi!) but they were all amazing. And the level of service was remarkable. Especially Melchor, Marina, and Nilo!

Embarkation/Disembarkation - both were incredibly smooth! Our ship didn’t arrive until 3pm due to repositioning. I arrived at 12:30 expecting to sit and wait for check in to start at 3pm but Celebrity was on top of their game. They provided early check in that took 10 minutes, then provided complimentary shuttle service to Bayside until the ship arrived! Disembarkation was even better. The ship docked at 7am and I was in Fort Lauderdale by 8:10!

Entertainment - this was one area lacking. The comedians (2 nights) were outstanding! The shows, however, were severely lacking, and all other entertainment was ok. Some actors were great others not so much. This was a minor complaint though. Rather than attending the shows we just spent time at the World Class Bar with two amazing bar tenders (thanks Denis and Andrej!!). All other bar staff was outstanding too, especially at the casino.

I was also disappointed with Cellar Masters. We fell in love with this wine bar on the Reflection but it’s disappointing on the Silhouette. It was often closed for special events and when it was open they just served you wine from the menu. On the Reflection Stephania introduced us to many new wines and got to know what we liked.

Overall I give this cruise an 8 out of 10. We always love Celebrity because of the service and will continue to sail with them in the future. I do hope the entertainment improves, but that’s not a deal breaker for me.

Thank you for your review, can’t wait till we board in 4 weeks. Can anyone go to them World Class Bar?

Yes, and I recommend it. The drinks are only covered by the premium beverage package but you can still go and pay the difference if you have the classic.

We board on March 18, likely the same itenary route, and a boarding delay communicated for Fort Lauderdale as the ship returns from port in Miami around 2pm. We look forward to a great vacation on the Silhouette. Thanks for the OP’s review.
