Freckles_51 Posted March 27, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2018 We booked flights through Air Canada, YYZ-YVR-AKL, first leg is on Air Canada, 2nd is on Air New Zealand but on the same ticket. When we check in at YYZ will we be given boarding passes for both flights, or need to check in at Air New Zealand counter in YVR for the 2nd leg? When we arrive in YVR, will we need to pickup luggage and check it back in at the Air New Zealand counter? For either of the above, will we stay in the secure area or will we need to go through security again? Thanks
CruiserBruce Posted March 27, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2018 Yes, you will be given boarding passes for the second leg when you check in at YYZ. No, you won't have to claim and re-check your bags at YVR. Can't answer for sure about the secure area at YVR...but think you will stay in the secure area. In YVR, the OP will stay in the secure area. YVR is divided into three areas, Domestic, International and Transboarder (US flights). Between Domestic and International there is a check to ensure you have a boarding pass or itinerary for a international departure. No additional security screening.
