vnb2003 Posted April 1, 2018 #26 Share Posted April 1, 2018 Do both people in the stateroom have to purchase it like on other cruise lines? I'm happy with just the included wines at dinner. My husband likes expensive wines and a cocktail before dinner. Yes, both people have to purchase SSP. The package price is $279 p/p for 15 days cruise. Multiply by 2 and divide by 15 days. This will be a little over $37 per day. Check out a sample wine/spirits menu and see the prices. Your husband will pay an average at least $10 per drink but probably more giving his preference to expensive wine. So if he will have at least 4 drinks a day then... The package definitely makes sense if both people prefer to have a drink of their choice at any time they want not just at lunch and dinner. Nippy Sweetie Posted April 1, 2018 #27 Share Posted April 1, 2018 We couldn't justify paying for the SSP based on our daily consumption even on holiday. However, it was a nice included extra in our package. We'd never have needed it on our river cruises. Re the food on river cruise - one American at our table likened it to 'cheap wedding reception catering'. We knew what he meant!
sunbrookgal Posted April 1, 2018 #28 Share Posted April 1, 2018 If it is just one drinking, then skip SSP.
