Does anyone know how far in advance of sailing are room assignments sent out when one books a Sail Away room

It really depends. I have never booked a sailaway, but have (as have friends of ours) booked a cabin category that has gone to guarantee status. In all cases, room assignments were given to us within two weeks (anywhere from a few weeks to months from sailing). I'm sure I've read that others haven't been given their room assignment to a day or so before sailing.

 

I wish there was a hard and fast answer on this one, but I'm afraid there just isn't.

 

Happy cruising though -- oh, and in the case of our friends, who were new to NCL, they got upgraded (within the balcony category).

We were also upgraded on 2 past bookings but were given that information a couple of weeks in advance. I guess NCL is waiting to see how many bookings they get in the next few days. Just wondering if anyone actually had to wait until the day before sailing, I hope not since my luggage tags have no room number at present. Thanks for your answer

Soon after you book all the way to the time you arrive at the port. You are saving money for the inconvenience.

We just booked a cruise last minute, two weeks ago, on Sail Away, for the May 9 sailing for Scandinavia, Russia and the Baltic on board the Breakaway, and we were given a stateroom shortly after, maybe after a couple of days after booking; you'll see it when you log in or on your cruise documents when you print your e-docs, if already available. I was told that one may get their stateroom assignment soon after or up to a few days before sailing. Hope this helps.

We booked six months out on the Jade and found out right after I registered. We received a cabin category that was twice the cost that we paid. Nice!
