Chiliburn Posted April 7, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2018 Late November to the start of January is reliable for good weather especially for a cruise to New Zealand. You will find a lot of people here getting away from the northern cold. Christmas is our main holiday season so book everything in advance. banzaii Posted April 7, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 7, 2018 P&O and Carnival do year-round cruises though mainly to the South Pacific with limited Australian Ports outside of the peak cruise season. At these times expect weather in the mid to high 20's (in degrees Celsius) and slightly cooler ocean temperatures. While Cyclones are less frequent after April, there are still powerful storms that can generate in the winter time affecting rainfall, temperature and sea swell. School holidays outside of the main cruise Season are for 2 weeks each around mid-April, 2nd week in July and end-September / early October. The April and Sept/Oct holidays roughly align with the Northern hemisphere repositioning cruises for those lines that bring ships over for our season.
