Two Wheels Only Posted April 20, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2018 "A series of aft cabins that look like Miami condos -- similar to what MSC Cruises did on Seaside -- were also shown." Not much as far as new information. Project Leonardo and Seaside share much since they are both based on Fincantieri's Project Mille
fstuff1 Posted May 28, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 28, 2018 (edited) it would be a hoot if ncl named the ships Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael. then we can nickname them the Ninja Turtle class. :p hm.. here's something interesting: Jewel Class: 2000 passengers, 93k tons Breakaway class: 4000 passengers, 145k tons Leonardo class: 3000 passengers, 140k tons 1000 less passengers than Breakaway yet only 5tons lighter?? so it's going to be ALMOST as big as the Breakaway? just more space for passengers? The tonnages are not the vessel's actual mass. It's gross tonnage, which is an archaic term for a calculated interior volume of the ship of all enclosed spaces using a rather convoluted formula. This is used for vessel crewing requirements, safety regulations, and various maritime-related fees. A vessel's mass is its displacement. It would be funny if they named them after the Ninja Turtles...err Renaissance painters. However I would think NCL would like to stick to their "NORWEGIAN XXX" naming scheme. It would be hard given that they are all Italian!
