4Mast Posted June 24, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2018 I have been looking at the Fjords cruise scheduled for 25 August 2018 departing from Southampton and have a question on the ports of call. The web site shows information on : Flam Ålesund, Bergen Kirkwall, Orkney Island but the first named places Haugesund Hellesylt Geiranger have no information. Can someone inform me on what happens ? I have seen info on one web site that suggests a stop.
Rare Huntingdon1701 Posted June 24, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2018 I'm on that one - they all have tours available if you book it. Hellesylt/Geiranger are a double stop - you pause at Hellesyt to unload a lot of tours then sail into Geiranger while they travel overland to meet the ship. I've booked my tours so only have access to those ones now, but their descriptions are below: Haugesund: Cruise up a gorgeous fjord and see one of Norway's most photographed waterfalls. Visit a rural farm and the workshop of a renowned folk artist. Hellesylt/Geiranger: Take advantage of this opportunity to get out and kayak on one of the longest and deepest fjords in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. MeHeartCruising Posted June 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2018 Research the sail in and out of Geiranger. It is one of the highlights of any fjord cruise -- The classic Norway Fjord scenery that you see in pictures. There will be multiple excursions that you can do from there that offer great Norwegian scenery.
