Just Back from the Liberty of the Seas- Lots of tips, tricks and pics

Recommended Posts

Thanks for sharing. I took the "Behind the Scenes" in 2016 and again in 2018. The most recent one dropped the tour behind the stage of the theater, the look at the liqueur storage and a shortened helm time. We were told that if an uncontrolled fire broke out in the booze storage compartment, the entire room could be jettisoned out to sea. Yikes.

Wow... that is interesting!

I have to assume you do not dive, snorkel or do beaches. Your comment about Roatan is way off base. It is considered the 3rd best dive/snorkel locale in the entire world. Hanging around Coxen Hole gives no one the true Roatan.

Actually... we do ALL three faithfully in our previous 13 cruises. We have been to Roatan MANY times on and off a cruise ship and LOVE it. Probably our favorite place to snorkel and or dive. However... this trip was about the pier area and that was lacking as I mentioned in the blog post. I personally do not think it is “off base” as I was ONLY talking about the Coxen Hole Area!

Thanks for following along. I appreciate your assumption, despite it being inaccurate! Let me know if you have any more questions, comments or concerns.

Kellie,

Thanks for the very detailed reviews.

We've read it with great interest & has taken lots of notes.

We'll take more time to enjoy your suggestions on the : Solarium, mini golf, helo pad & pool slides.

Thanks for MDR "Brassier 30" lunch recommendation & $2 Mimosas in Casino, we'll try that out

Have a few other questions:

- We have always used Galveston Park N Cruise ($75 for the week), which is across the street from terminal. You recommend Cruise Park for $45. Much better facilities & experience?

- Your Gold priority boarding status got you on in good time at 10:30am. We're Emerald, but planning to arrive terminal around 11am, still a good time for speedy boarding?

- Your Blog recommends the Belkin surge outlet plug. They allow surge plugs onboard?

- Did you make show reservations online first, or once onboard?

- Extra charge for Izumi sushi cart ?

- Can you special order: thin crust, or deep dish crust at Sorrento's Pizza?

- Can you pay extra in the MDR for the same Chops Grille Ribeye Steak?

- The First Night DoneRight ($20) option only good at Chops & Giovannis?

Thanks,

Thanks for following along! I love blogging and re-living the cruise and then rereading years later.

Let me answer those questions:

1- I’ve NEVER had an issue with Cruise Park and I love supporting a fellow Christian family. Easy walk to port after the take you on a golf cart they the back street.

2- The Embarkation was very surprising. I expected a massive ship like LOTS to be slow but it was crazy fast. I think 11 will be fine. That is still considered early.

3- I’ve used that Belkin plug for 12/14 cruises and never had it taken away. I love that thing. Great investment.

4- no show “reservations”. The SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER and the In The Air are very crowded. Get there early. Also they only do the Ice show on nights 1 and 4. I recommend 1 bc not everyone knows it’s there. But other wise no issues. But no reservations like the mega ships.

5- yes sushi cart was extra. We never ate it, I regret that, but I think it was $5.95 an order (plus Tip).

6- I don’t think so. All crusts were the same. BUT I learned they DO have gluten free options.

7- yes there is an option for the Chops steaks in the MDR. $16.95 I believe. But I didn’t see the Rib Eye in particular... just the Filet.

8- First Night Done rift is for “any” specialty dining. They will assign and then if you want to change you go to the Maitre D on embarkation day (the earlier the better). But if you like Giovanni’s and Sabor I would recommend the $30 package for BOTH. But only good on Night 1 and 2.

I hope this helps. Ask any more questions you may have.
