Question for Princess Regal/Copenhagen

We disembark on Aug 17 in CPH. We are then traveling to Hobro, Denmark, via train, for a wedding.

What is the best way to get from the port to Central Station?

Also, ship port at 0500. What is a reasonable expectation for the time we will be off the ship and through customs?

Thanks for any help you guys can provide!

Taxi and probably not before 7:30 if you take advantage of self disembarkation (you will need to be able to wheel all of your luggage off the ship on your own).

And welcome to Cruise Critic and have a Great Cruise!! The Regal is a beautiful ship.

Thank, msmoger! Do we need to do anything (besides carry luggage ourselves) for self disembarkment?

We are new to cruising and are trying to figure out all of the logistics...

Thanks for the welcome and the Regal does look beautiful.

Alternatively - although this depends upon how much luggage you have - you could take the 25 or 27 bus which run whenever cruise ships are in town. The former runs between Oceankaj and Østerport and Nørreport DSB railway stations, the latter just between Oceankaj and Østerport station. From these you can get a through ticket to Hobro

We took that cruise in June...you will love it:D.

We self- disembarked as we could handle all our own luggage. If you do that, you (and you luggage) will need to be out of your cabin by 8am, but you don't have to actually leave the ship until 9am. (Don't know what time your train is.) No customs. Bus 25 and 27 pick up directly across the street. You can buy tickets from a small shop at the pier, or if you have any Danish Kroner you can buy a ticket on the bus. The Baltic ports message board has tons of info as well.

We got off the Regal on June 12 in Copenhagen, and we were off the ship by 6:45 AM. No customs - we took the Princess transfer bus to the airport, which is where we picked up our luggage. You should be able to get a taxi with no problem at the port to the Central Station. We took a taxi TO the port from the Scandic Hotel, which is very close to the train station, and it cost us

somewhere between $20 - 25 US. No problems, great service, and they take credit cards Your trip should be approximately the same. It was a great trip and loved the Regal. Enjoy!

Thank you for all of the responses! :)

We aren't buying train tickets early so if there are unforeseen delays our trip won't be impacted. We will purchase once we arrive ar Central Station (Kobenhavn H, I think).

Sounds like the best way to get from the oceankaj cruise terminal to Central Station is via taxi (due to luggage). Princess made it sound like the taxi wait would be 1-2 hours, but it seems that is likely not the case. We are also the first cruise to port that day so I would think that helps. We would use a princess transfer, but they told me only to airport or hotel.

It would be fantastic if we can make it to Central Station by 0730, that way we can be in Hobro no later than 1200-1300. Have plenty of time to freshen up, visit with family, and maybe nap before the festivities that evening.

Thanks again and whoever suggested the Baltic message board...thank you. I will contact Danish Viking for more detail. He has a thread specifically for Copenhagen.

Excited...just over 1 month out. Never thought I'd have the opportunity to visit Copenhagen, Oslo, Berlin, Tallinn, St Petersburg, Helsinki, and Stockholm. Incredible list of ports....

There was quite a long line/wait to get a taxi when we got off the HAL Zuiderdam in Copenhagen in May 2017. It's a much smaller ship than the Regal. Other than the inconvenience of waiting in line while pulling one's luggage, we weren't in any rush as we were staying over for a few nights.
