Where's a good place to dart in and pick up a 12 pack of soda with taxi waiting?

 

Have always gone to the hotel first and not directly from airport to port.

Publix or Total Wine (Harbor Shops) near the port will have what you want

There are a number of good options off 17th St, like CVS, Walgreen's, Publix, etc

 

HOWEVER...

 

There are a number of different entrances into Port Everglades, and two of them bypass 17th street entirely. Which one the taxi driver takes will probably depend on which ship you're boarding, IOW which pier your ship is docked at. Make sure you tell the taxi driver when you're still at FLL that you need to stop to load up on soda or he may take into one of the other entrances that come up before 17th St.

Thank you both for the info...yes, the direction the taxi takes into port was my concern. We usually stay at the Renaissance and I know there's that Walgreens across the street but wasn't sure if taxi drivers take that route.

 

Will take your advice and let them know which ship and play it by ear.

I thought the cruise ships do not allow you to bring soda on board. Am I wrong about that? I know on Princess we can bring 1 bottle of wine per person with no corkage fee if we open it in our room.

AFAIK, most cruise lines allow soda. I believe Carnival doesn't allow bottles though, only cans.

Princess has no limit on soda or water brought on board.
