sexysquirrel2u Posted August 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2018 Flying into LGB. Will need to pick up wine, soda and last minute items before heading to Port of Los Angeles (in Long Beach). Recommendations for best places to stop? Looking for decent mid-range wine selection. Thanks!
Bruin Steve Posted August 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 11, 2018 Flying into LGB. Will need to pick up wine, soda and last minute items before heading to Port of Los Angeles (in Long Beach). Recommendations for best places to stop? Looking for decent mid-range wine selection. Thanks! I guess the first question I'd need to ask is how you are getting from LGB to the port (assume you are cruising on Carnival, correct?). If you are renting a car or getting a ride from someone, then it depends on your route...If you head straight south from LGB on Lakewood Blvd., there's a Ralphs Supermarket at the Circle, just a few blocks south of the airport...and you will find a decent selection of wines and other drinks there... If you are taking an Uber or taxi, it's a little more complicated...You could have them stop there on the way to the port...and pay a little money in "waiting" time... Or, you could head straight to the pier, drop your luggage, then take an Uber...or hop on the free Passport Shuttle (and walk a little) to get to the Vons Supermarket at Broadway and Atlantic... (The Passport stops at Broadway and Long Beach Blvd.--You'd walk .2 miles east from there to the Vons.).
ATSEAMYLIFE Posted August 17, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2018 No matter, there will be no lack of places to stop for what you need. For one stop shop do a Von's or Ralphs.
naxer Posted August 18, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2018 Thanks for the info. We're staying the night before our cruise in Long Beach and were going to wander around until we found something. Now we know which direction to wander in.
sexysquirrel2u Posted August 20, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted August 20, 2018 THANKS all! We're taking a taxi, so this gives a choice of routes. Appreciate it.
