Priority Boarding for Platinum

No, pick the time that you will really be there. That way there won't be more people there during that time slot than they expect - does that make sense? If you pick 1:00, then show up at 11:00, then that's at least 2 more people in the terminal than was signed up for that time. There are times for a reason.

Thank you! This makes sense. I will choose the same time as my family gets.

A follow up question: Is it better to pick a later time to complete my check in so I won't "take a spot" of an earlier time for someone that isn't platinum? I think I read that in a thread somewhere on here once.

I think it is best to tell them when you think you are going to be there. If enough people lie about when they are coming , it could cause significant delays when these people show up early. The system works well; why mess with it?

It has been explained by the experts here that it doesn’t matter if you “save” a slot to allow for a non platinum person to select. The boarding times do not work like that. They will get what they get whether you pick early or late slot. The slots available and Fttf depends on how many diamonds and plats are sailing. That then trickles down to how many Fttf they can open up. So...I usually pick the same time that my family picks and pray they get something early. I hate to leave them to board platinum....but I will lol. Really, this last time we were doing some serious car pooling and didn’t board until after 1pm, so we had a very small window of time before everyone else and all of the rooms were ready when we all boarded. My husband hurt his back the week before so we didn’t even use our platinum perks, we used the “wheelchair perks” coming and going. It was not a fun cruise for my husband but that wheel chair assistance at the port both on embark and debark came in handy.

This will be my first cruise as Platinum...Jan.19/19 out of Galveston to Panama Canal. Questions.....

Can Priority board at any time or do they have to check in at the time on Boarding Pass?

If I check in at noon (my assigned time) will I have to sit around quite awhile before we can board?

Are the rooms usually ready at boarding time (for Platinum)?

Is debarkation a mad house or does it go smoothly (for Platinum), even if you checked bags?

I don't see where Platinum gets bottled water as I did in the lower reward levels. Did I miss seeing it?

Is the Award reception on a Formal Night?

Looking forward to the free laundry. Have you used it? Were you pleased? How long does it take to get back?

THANKS for your responses.

I really hate to be the bearer of bad news but you will not be Platinum on your upcoming cruise. The good thing is you will be boarding with the rest of your family.

Going by your signature you will still be 5 days shy of achieving that status on your cruise in 2019.

According to this you have been on...

04 days - 1x4 days cruise

05 days - 1x5 days cruise

18 days - 3x6 days cruises

28 days - 4x7 days cruises

08 days - 1x8 days cruise

------------

63 total cruise days taken

07 days - upcoming 7 days cruise

------------

70 days at sea

The benchmark to make platinum is 75 days sailing with Carnival.

With the new format on CC you can only add 9 lines in your signature she probably has more than what is listed on here signature

Ok resurrecting this thread...LOL. I will be sailing on the Breeze 3/23/19 out of Canaveral. I have a 12:30 boarding time but am Platinum. Assuming 'I can get on earlier?

No set time for Diamond or Platinum on this ship. Come earlier if you like.
