shipsmail Posted August 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2018 My Silversea shows for the christmas cruise in Asia three formal nights: Dec. 23rd, Dec. 27th and Jan. 3rd. I am surprised that both christmas and NYE are not marked as formal. I remember years ago on a similar cruise there were formal nights on these days. Any thoughts about that? MLeh Posted August 25, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2018 my.silversea for our Christmas cruise - Fort Lauderdale to San Francisco - only shows one formal night so far - the traditional 'second night out' one (in our case December 21st). We should be having a total of three formal nights. I'm sort of counting on one of the Christmas days (either Eve or Day) to be formal, and definitely New Years Eve. I've bought a dress for New Years Eve! (We've been homebodies for many years on New Years Eve, so this is my chance ...) Perhaps those who have cruised holiday cruises previously can share their experiences?

As I recall, the last time I did a holiday cruise (not in Asia) both Christmas and NYE were formal evenings -- and very festive.
wripro Posted August 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 25, 2018 If you want to make it formal night do so. Just wear your tux and gown and voila! it's a formal night!
Bluebelle14 Posted August 27, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 27, 2018 This is our 20th Christmas/New Year's Silversea cruise and we've always had three formal evenings. It is only showing one formal evening on December 21st...can't imagine New Year's Eve will not be formal!
