New Orleans Return Flight Question

We are sailing on the Dream out of New Orleans Dec. 23 - 30 and I am looking at our return flights. Is booking a 12:15 pm flight out of New Orleans too risky? We're supposed to be back in port at 8 am. Anyone with any experience with this? Thanks.

Is flying back on the 31st an option? Eat some beignets and etoufee', drink a few hurricanes & simply laissez les bon temps roullez without worrying about whether you have time to make your flight.

Saints-Panthers at noon. Get out of dodge early. It's going to be a madhouse down there. I'll be at the Marriott Convention Center that night.

We've done a few Carnival cruises out of NOLA. On one of them, we could not board until late in the evening because the ship didn't dock until noon (I don't remember why - fog, I think). Certainly unusual, but it does happen.
