Kohunlich or Dzibanche ruins with Native Choice

Doing both would be a great tour, but I think you'd need a couple of more hours in port to be able to take it in.

I'd suggest, Dzibanche, probably a better example of Mayan culture than either Chacchobben or Kohunlich. You can climb the temples at Dzibanche, not sure on Kohunlich.

They are still excavating portions and discovering tombs.

Just be prepared for a long day.

Thanks for your quick response, is Dzibanche a farther drive than Chacchobben?

Yes. It's about a 2 hour drive from port. As I recall Chaccobean is just west on the other side of 307. Both Dzibanche and Kohunlich are further south along 307. And Dzibanche is a little further away than Kohunlich as well, because you go past and then turn north again.

Dzibanche well worth the long ride.

Very few people the day we toured with Native Choice, in fact my wife and I were the only people going with them, so had the tour guide all to ourselves.

A quiet experience where you felt the weight of the ages around you.

The highlight of our last cruise!

I know this is a little late but DH and I did this tour and it was absolutely fantastic.  Dzibanche was WORTH every second of the drive.  We only had 2 other couples with us and it was incredible.  We have seen 2 other sites in Costa Maya and this was the definite favorite.  We did all of them with Native Choice while arriving via cruise ship.
