i'm Pearl level.

the casino hostess said that if i make Sapphire by Dec 2018, my tier will reset back to Jade on April 1, 2019.

but if i make Sapphire Jan-March 2019, then i stay sapphire til March 31, 2020.

that doesnt make any sense. it encourages me NOT to gamble till Jan 2019.

was what she said  true???

You'll keep whatever tier level you have at the end of the evaluation period (March 31) but points re-set to zero on April 1 so you begin building tier points for the following year. So if you are Sapphire at the end of March, you remain Sapphire until the end of March next year. Hope that makes sense. From CAS page:

The annual tier evaluation period is April 1 – March 31. Tier levels are based on points earned within the 12-month evaluation period. For purposes of tier evaluation, all members will start with zero points on April 1st. Points earned April 1 - March 31 will determine the tier level for the subsequent year. Tier levels may be upgraded during the year based on point earnings. Tier levels are re-evaluated on an annual basis. Bonus and adjusted points are not considered in tier evaluation.

so my Pearl will expire on MArch 31, 2020 and not march 31, 2019 like the casino host said??

(the info from the CAS page is confusing and no way clear to me in regards to tier expiration)

Correct: if you are at Pearl tier on March 31, 2019 you remain at Pearl until March of 2020. However, and to clarify, on April 1, 2019 your tier POINTS re-set to zero and you need to accumulate them again to maintain that level after March 31, 2020.

Hope that makes sense.

So I thought I understood this, but now I am confused.  Doesn’t it matter if the person is pearl from where they were the previous year?  So they may be pearl but not from points earned after April 1st?  Then they would go back to Jade.  You have to monitor your points to make sure you accumulate enough to stay at your current level.  If the op got enough points to reachieve pearl then sapphire all before April 1st, then the stay saphire?  Right?  Nothing happens Jan 1st so not sure that plays in unless the op had a cruised just booked on that date.  Usually the casino hosts I have met are pretty versed in all the point stuff.  I think this is all the same as what you explained, but just want to make sure I am understanding it right.
