Ncl shuttle

I haven't heard anything about that.

I found this https://www.ncl.com/au/en/getting-to-the-pier/transfers-and-car-services but it doesn't really apply to Melbourne as it is airport transfers and not free.

IME, there have been no cruise lines offering free shuttles into the city. There is the Tram located very near to the dock which takes you into the city The trams are free once into the CBD but you would need to buy a ticket  to get into the city and back out again and tickets can be purchased on the dock.

Public transport from Station Pier either the tram or a special shuttle bus. Both are paid by myki Card.

And what an excellent job Melbourne does with its public transport. We called several times to Melbourne and it was always a breeze getting into and out of the City. Melbourne would have to be the best Public transport in Australia .

We either use the tram or bus, easy to do, but unless something has changed you need a card, last time we were there, they were sell8ng them in the terminal, a few cruises back they had volunteers giving them out for free, and then there if you wanted to give them back before departing again.

Excellent stuff.  The Myki card is able to be purchased and loaded at many shops around the city but most importantly at the dock.
