Do they still print daily newsletters on Solstice?

Recommended Posts

In a couple of Solstice reviews, it has mentioned that Celebrity has been cost-cutting and don't print a daily newsletter.  Can anyone sailing on her at present, please confirm if this is correct.  Many thanks.

PS I will post this question on the Celebrity board as well

They certainly print one for embark day and no one from the ship ( or anywhere else) has mentioned that they do not print a daily one.  We still tell guests they will be receiving one in their room every night.

Yes, I have been assured from the Celebrity Board that the "Celebrity Today" is being printed daily.   Apparently, it is the daily newspapers they used to print, that have been discontinued.

As another member explained,

"It was a four- or six- page digest of the news, including some sports scores, high/lo temps of selected cities, headline stories.   Gone now."

I think all cruise lines should stop print advertising. It is such a tremendous waste of paper to have endless art auction, shop discount, casino information delivered to your cabin on a daily basis. They are taking away plastic straws now and it is high time the advertisements were withdrawn. On my last cruise I had a drawer full of print advertising. I wonder how many trees are cut down per cruise just to print all their advertisements for art auctions.

I have never had a draw full of paper from a cruise, I read it (or start to read it) and throw it away straight away.

There was a drawer full of the papers on my recent Diamond Princess cruise. When it is in Japan they have origami paper plane flying competitions and people started keeping the paper stocked up in drawers. Unfortunately the steward never cleaned it out when I moved into the cabin. It made me realise what a waste of paper it was.
