Booking shore excursion/waiting for OBC

Do most shore excursions fill up usually? I will be getting an OBC from the TA I went through but it won’t be added until closer to the cruise.

Is it safe to wait to book an excursion? Or if I paid for it would they refund the difference with the OBC?

Thanks for the help!

It is my understanding through the years, that cruise lines do not sell all the excursion slots through pre-booking online.  They keep a certain amount of the slots for onboard booking.  I have done exactly what you are suggesting:  booked once onboard to utilize my OBC.  I do recommend booking as early as possible when you get onboard.  I doubt they will have the Shore Excursions desk open at embarkation, but you can check.  Also, I would try the app.  I have used the app to make dinner reservations as soon as we have boarded the ship.

OBC cannot be used prior to the cruise.  You can on use it once onboard... OnBoard Credit (OBC).
