Thanks to some passengers (who did not have the correct paper work for BA), that MSC ship crashing in to each other! and a few other issues!  I am currently writing a big post about this!, so hopefully I will get it up in the next few days!. Shame, we look forward to your report. Probably right there, we did it on Golden Princess in 2014 and they also use Star Princess on that run.   Wonderful pics, thanks young Stu. Yep, I preferred the Brazilian side for the scenery but the Argentinian side for the walk and sound.
Kiwi Kruzer Posted February 24, 2019 Author #55  Share Posted February 24, 2019 They were at Puerto Madryn today. Looks like it was a tender port. On their way to Stanley in the Falkland Islands now . Lets hope the weather and the the seas are kind and they manage to get ashore.
Rare MicCanberra Posted February 24, 2019 #56 Â Share Posted February 24, 2019 We were docked when we were there. Yes, Stanley is definitely a port where you hope the weather will be good for it.

Kiwi_cruiser Posted February 24, 2019 #58 Â Share Posted February 24, 2019 Have a look at our AIS track đ We did two trips around that ship in the middle as we had to go and pick up some pilots for cape horn. Â

We got to look into the stores as well, one place stood out for me, it was the pub by the dock for a quick local ( which wasn't so local).
Kiwi Kruzer Posted February 26, 2019 Author #65  Share Posted February 26, 2019 Looks like they made it ashore to Stanley in the Falkland Islands all be it overcast and raining. The harbour looks calm. Bet it will be cold there. They will be able to wander around in the village and take a stroll along Margaret Thatcher Drive.   From AIS you can see the path the tenders take from the ship, into the landing at Stanley
Rare MicCanberra Posted February 26, 2019 #66 Â Share Posted February 26, 2019 Cheers, it is a fairly long tender ride, took around 1/2 hour each way and the water was calm in the harbour and only a little bit choppy in the bay but no swell. Kiwi Kruzer Posted February 27, 2019 Author #67  Share Posted February 27, 2019 They were due to sail around The Horn this morning, our time, but the bridge cam shows rough weather and the AIS track has them missing the Horn  and heading for Ushuaia . Perhaps we will get an update from Stu. Shame if they missed the Horn.
Rare MicCanberra Posted February 27, 2019 #68 Â Share Posted February 27, 2019 I would have thought they would call into Ushuaia. Perhaps they are waiting out a storm for a few hours.
Kiwi Kruzer Posted February 27, 2019 Author #69  Share Posted February 27, 2019 They are rounding the Horn as I post. When we rounded we had come from Valparaiso and we circled the Cape first thing in the morning , whereas they will be be seeing it at eventide....thats if they can see through the rain. Kiwi Kruzer Posted March 1, 2019 Author #71  Share Posted March 1, 2019 They have been as far south as they had intended and are now heading north up the Western side of South America. Looks like it was overcast again in Ushuaia . Now cruising through the Beagle Channel to the Pacific Ocean.
