Dani24 Posted February 14, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2019 I am looking to purchase roundtrip airfare on Alaska Airlines for myself, my husband, our daughter, my MIL and possibly my BIL. I have an Alaska Airlines Visa, and one companion fare code. I do see that if I book on the same reservation that up to 6 passengers can get a free checked bag. But it seems like the companion fare only allows me to book two people. Is there a way to get the free bags for all five of us and still be able to use the companion fare? Rare FlyerTalker Posted February 14, 2019 #2 Share Posted February 14, 2019 Perhaps a call to Alaska Airlines might get the official answer. 1-800-ALASKAA
6rugrats Posted February 14, 2019 #3 Share Posted February 14, 2019 (edited) It's not possible to get free bags for all of you. All tickets must be on the same reservation to get the free baggage allowance. As you've discovered, you can only have two people on the same reservation if you use a companion fare.
