Grandeur of the seas and kids?

Recommended Posts

We were on Spring Break  a couple of years ago.  Never again during that time frame.  There were 600 kids onboard.  There's really not enough to keep that many kids occupied, especially since more than a few of the parents let them roam alone.  There were kids running around corners, up and down stairs, down hallways, etc.  I stopped a couple of them and reminded them that there were older people who they would knock down if they kept doing it.  They were being kids, but it's not a big ship.   Also, several parents brought their kids to the midnight adult comedy which really didn't go over well with the comedian.  They're not there to have to watch what they say and most don't feel comfortable doing their normal act.  This was partly due to not much to do at night and partly some parents thinking it was okay.

A PP mentioned Pride was better for kids, but that's because it's got more to do-water slides for example.

We're on the 12 day in just over 5 weeks and there won't be as many children then since school is still in session.  The last 12 night we were on was a Halloween cruise and there were 10 children onboard Grandeur which the CD proudly let us know and then said "You're welcome".  Our kids are grown, but if we were traveling with children or grandchildren I would take them on Anthem instead.  That's really a kids paradise.  Tons of activities, family indoor pool, video games, bumper cars, etc.

We will be sailing Grandeur May 2nd with our 7 and 10 year olds. They loved the freedom and sure they will enjoy this cruise since they really only care about kids club. I am guessing there won't be many kids on this cruise since it is during school for most. One of the benefits of year round school is off peak travel.
