Difference in 2 Cinque Terre excursions

We are traveling on the Oasis in May out of Barcelona. Looking at the 2 different Cinque excursions with Royal Caribbean but they look identical however there is a price difference of about $65 per person. I called RC & they were of no help. Both excursions are for 9 hours. Looking for any insight from people who may booked one of these excursions. I hate that they don’t reviews to help make better decisions. Thanks!

The first tour appears to start in Porto Venere and is scheduled to go to 2 (Vernazza and Monterosso al Mare) of the 5 towns of Cinque Terre. However note that:

• If marine conditions make it impossible to dock in Vernazza, the boat will proceed to Monterosso directly and more time will be provided in both Monterosso and Portovenere.

 

The second tour starts in Porto Venere and is scheduled to go to only Monterosso.

 

So if weather is poor tour 1 turns into tour 2.

Do both tours include a boat trip or is one by bus only?

Incidentally you can very easily do a tour by boat from the dockside at La Spezia, catch a train back and see more than these tours offer for about a quarter of the price.

We DIY and caught the train to the CT.  - we went up the furthest one and worked our way back

€20 for shared cab to train station between 4 of us 

€15pp for train tickets prebought online

€20 for shared return cab between 4 of us

 

So the day cost €25pp ....heck of a lot cheaper than RCI!
