Denali help

We are driving into Denali from Anchorage on a Saturday morning and plan on taking the shuttle (the 8 hour shuttle) into Denali on Sunday. Our flight leaves from Anchorage on Monday at 6:30pm. Should we stay in Denali, Talkeenta or Anchorage Sunday night?  Also any recommendations on where to stay?

You should have time to drive to the airport from the Denali area if you get an early start. You could also drive half way the evening before which would be about Talkeetna. It'll make for a long day after your shuttle trip, but I think I might do that.

You might also want to check out the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge for availability. On our last road trip we stopped there on our way north to Denali and Fairbanks and then again on our way back to Anchorage. It's in a beautiful location and very conveniently located right off the highway about 40 miles from Talkeetna.

We are booked for Radiance in August, doing land tour first.  Was just looking at the lodging for curiosity & not

seeing very positive information for Denali Park Village.  Has anyone experienced a stay here and should I be

concerned ?  Not overly fussy, but do like better hotels so hope won't be disappointed.

Thanks

We are doing the same SB ship in May w/DIY land tour first. We had read the same reviews as you on Denali Park Village. We booked all of our accommodations through a TA after many nights reviewing lodging. We're doing 2 nights each in Talkeetna Alaska Lodge, Grand Denali Lodge and Alyeska Resort. We booked early and have managed to reserve premium view rooms in all. It was a while back. But again through a TA. Cost was not to save $$$. Trip Advisor and Yelp have lots of reviews. Might also look at VRBO and Alaska.org for some hints as to what folks like.

Thanks.  Not sure can change accomodations as this is included in cost/package for this sailing.
