ranchette Posted May 17, 2019 #1 Share Posted May 17, 2019 What are the specialty restaurants on the meraviglia? I am a black card holder and will get one free restaurant. How and when do I book the restaurant?
Rare Beamafar Posted May 17, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 17, 2019 (edited) Butcher's Cut, Ocean Cay, Kaito Sushi (and Teppanyaki) and Hola! Tapas. You book when onboard. Go to the restaurant of your choice when it's open to make the reservation. In most cases a reservation is not necessary as the SRs are very rarely busy (though Butcher's Cut is very popular). Kaito Teppanyaki is not included in the Black Card perk. Edited May 17, 2019 by Beamafar
ranchette Posted May 17, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted May 17, 2019 Thanks for your reply. I also booked the dinner & show but was not told what day or time do you know where i would go to find this out? I am very new to MSC.
Rare Beamafar Posted May 17, 2019 #4 Share Posted May 17, 2019 You have to go to the Carousel Lounge, when bookings are open, to book your time and date. The times will be advised in the Daily Program; it's advisable to do this as early as possible once onboard. On the subject of the complimentary meal for 2 in an SR - you will be limited to choosing from the 'Dining Experience' menu. Here are the DE menus from Butcher's Cut, Ocean Cay and Hola! Tapas: : 1

If we weren't booked in YC, I'd go more often (though that would entail having to bring extra sets of larger-sized clothes, lol. I cannot move for an hour or more after an evening in BC). 😜
thecruisers6 Posted May 18, 2019 #7 Share Posted May 18, 2019 Haha Bea we will have to play statues in the TSL. The only items I got yesterday were the shoes as hopefully will need a smaller size in October. Best not through any of my current wardrobe away for when I get back 😬
CruisingFox27 Posted May 18, 2019 #8 Share Posted May 18, 2019 Thanks for the menu's Bea. I was intrigued by Ocean Cay as we love seafood but that menu isn't very inspiring, we'll stay with Plan A and be opting for BC.
Rare Beamafar Posted May 18, 2019 #9 Share Posted May 18, 2019 (edited) Totally agree, CF! It would have to be some awesome menu to draw us from Butcher's Cut. Here's a link to the full Ocean Cay menu (as an FYI): OCEAN CAY MENU.pdf Edited May 18, 2019 by Beamafar
CruisingFox27 Posted May 18, 2019 #10 Share Posted May 18, 2019 I think I'm pleased it isn't tempting as we'd wanted to try BC. DH is already in a quandary over the rack of lamb and steak....🤔 He should be sorting his thermals for next week but is very easily distracted when a steak or rack of lamb are involved 😂
Rare Beamafar Posted May 18, 2019 #11 Share Posted May 18, 2019 (edited) These images may make it even harder for him, so: Check out DH's plate in the photo immediately above - I hadn't even started on my lamb, but his steak is practically demolished! thecruisers6 Posted May 18, 2019 #17 Share Posted May 18, 2019 As it’s on the menu above shall I deflect the cheesecake saga for the ‘chocolate lava cake’ debate? Originated in France in the late 70’s before it was ‘claimed’ to be invented in 1987 by a US based chef in.....yep you guessed it New York
CruisingFox27 Posted May 18, 2019 #18 Share Posted May 18, 2019 I don't normally have a particularly sweet tooth but I do love a cheesecake - strawberry, NY or chocolate lava.....feel free to debate whilst I eat the cheesecake 😀 Finally, DH has started his list. He'll no doubt start asking me questions just as the FA Cup kick's off 🙄
