I'd suggest heading over to the Marella forum to ask: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/388-marella-cruises-formerly-thomson/

John Bull Posted June 27, 2019 #4 Share Posted June 27, 2019 Hi, Tinker, and welcome to Cruise Critic. If your cruise ends up back where it started, things tend to even-out. If going broadly west to east (eg Bangkok to Hong Kong) the starboard (right, facing forward) will spend more time in the sun, going east to west it'll be the port side. Bear in mind that the sun isn't the only factor in the choice - there's things like views of the coast, and which way the ship is facing in port. Most of which is pot-luck. Fascinating part of the world. Enjoy JB
