Back to back question

Wanted to know a couple of things about back to backs..We are on the Escape to Bermuda on Sept 1st From New York and then staying with the Escape on the 8th doing Canada New England..I have casino cruise Balcony for Bermuda and then an ocean viewer the New England one,so we have to change rooms.. Question 1 is how is this done ,we pack up things do they move the suit cases or do we and when. Question 2 do we have to leave the ship and if we do leave do we have to stand in line again to get cruise cards for 2nd cruise..Any info would be great as well as any tips for the pro's would be helpful..Thanks for the help...

You will pack up your cabin and leave your bags inside. Your cabin steward will move the bags to your new cabin.  You will receive instructions near the end of the first leg regarding the turn around process in NYC. I've only done Miami so don't give you incorrect info. The luggage process is the same regardless of ship or port. Have fun!!

The luggage is handled as the previous post has noted.

Regarding new key cards and cabin changes - on that first leg of the B2B go to Guest Services and get the

scoop on what when and how to do this. Whether you have to leave the ship may vary on the port and NCL.

You will not have to wait in line and reregister at the B2B port - the Guest Services will handle this all while

on board - after that you maybe required to disembark the ship briefly for a zero head count but will be able

to reboard without delay. One other thing the Muster Drill will no doubt be in another zone and require the

mandatory attendance. For the specific procedure for your ship/sailing contact Guest Services.

The whole system works fine and fitting in a shore excursion while at the B2B can be done.

Since your luggage is transferred by your cabin attendant - you can put things away early without waiting for it.

It is almost like being VIP - note if you have dining requests for that 2nd leg get that arranged too.

We changed cabins last year on Getaway and it was handled very well.  The day before, we were given luggage tags that noted old cabin number and new cabin number and told to keep the luggage in our cabin.  We did not pack the items that were hanging in the closet.  We were only moving 10 doors up the hall, but had a different cabin steward.  We touched base with him during the first cruise.

 

On turn around day morning, we were planning on taking our safe contents to breakfast with us, but saw that our new cabin had been vacated so we set the safe up and put our stuff in it.  We told the new cabin steward we had done that and we were going to breakfast.  When we returned, everything had been moved and the hanging clothes were all hung neatly in the closet.  We did give the cabin steward an extra tip.

In a US port you will be required to get off the ship and then get back onboard. We did a B2B Boston to Quebec and back - in Quebec we were given stickers that said we were returning guests so we could skip the security at the port. As for our key card - is was valid for the entire cruise - no re-issue. We could not book any excursions on the return trip until it started. Including a tour in Quebec that we could not book until we arrived and a tour of Boston that ended up at the airport. I waited because I had lots of OBC to use.
