thunter1224 Posted July 23, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2019 Can anyone tell if there is a casino close to the docks ? I collect poker chips and would love to pop in and out of a close casino to the NCL piers to grab my chip ? I also have a stop in St. Thomas, St. Lucia, Barbados, Antigua, any info on these islands also ?
njhorseman Posted July 23, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2019 (edited) Is this is a port call rather than a ship embarking in San Juan? It makes a difference because NCL uses different cruise terminals for each. If a port call your ship will dock in Old San Juan and there are no casinos in that immediate area. If you're embarking in San Juan the ships will be docked at the Pan American cruise terminal and there is a casino at the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel that's near the convention center about a mile from the cruise terminal. I'm not sure if it's actually walkable though because of the nature of the roads and lack of sidewalks. The Sheraton Puerto Rico is actually also the closest casino to the Old San Juan cruise piers but you definitely have to take a taxi as it's a couple of miles away on the other side of the harbor. Which makes it a port call and as I explained there are no casinos near the Old San Juan cruise terminal where ships dock on port calls. Nearest is a couple of miles by taxi at the Sheraton near the convention center. Edited July 23, 2019 by njhorseman
