New Orleans Pre Cruise where to stay close to port.

Cruising on The Carnival Glory with a large group Jan. 10th 2021.   What is a good hotel close to port or downtown to stay the night before the cruise?

We stayed at the Omni Riverfront which is kitty corner across from the cruise port.  So close you can walk to it if you feel like dragging your luggage over there.  The hotel was nice and the staff very friendly.

Currently I've been seeing good deals on hotwire for Hilton Riverside, Hyatt Place convention center, and Hilton Garden Inn convention center. 2021 is too far out to book there though...usually about a year out.

Thank you Saint Greg for responding 🙂 I'm the original posters wife.  We have been looking at those places as well. Some of our group want to venture out and explore once we are there, so which hotel would you recommend?  Thanks!

You can do it from any of them. Riverside would be the best because there’s a streetcar stop right out in front. It’s also a few blocks shorter of a walk to the French quarter if you wish to go on foot. They have a good restaurant right there in the hotel. A Starbucks right in the hotel. If you’re a gambler, harrahs is across the street. The hotel is connected to the river walk mall which has a cafe du monde in it.
