Sunset on Santorini

I am going to be in Santorini for a cruise stop and am trying to figure out the best spot to see the sunset.
I am there on September 11th and the sunset is around 7:30.  We are in port from 2:00pm to 10:00pm.

I would like to be able to have dinner somewhere that I can see the sunset.  Does anyone have any restaurant recommendations or thought on which spot is better...Fira or Oia?

Welcome to CC and your first posts. The site is very useful but getting to know how to get the best from it takes time and patience, but rewarding in the end!

 

To get the most info, suggesting that when you are logged in and on this Greece Ports forum, look for the little blank SEARCH box just under your username on the right side. Insert the word SUNSET, then from the dropdown (which should open when you inset "sunset") tick to the left of THIS FORUM and hit the magnifying glass.

 

All previous threads and replies with the word "sunset" in them will appear and you can read them for all the suggestions made previously. Most will refer to Santorini sunsets.  If you include the word "Santorini" along with "sunsets" in the search box you will also pick up many results with the word "Santorini" in them, most of which are unlikely to relate to your question.

 

Suggested this option as unsure how many replies you may get as it has been asked so many times before.

 

We saw it from our ship, anchored in the caldera. There was a deck party.

We also saw it from our ship. It was very pretty watching not just the sunset, but seeing the colors on the cliffs changing. Something you probably wouldn't see ashore.

Good luck, that Santorini Sunset getting a lot of press in the days as the finest example of over tourism, we found it just beautiful but really not any more spectacular than the sunsets we get out of our house, without the crowds 😁
