Whats Better a 4B or a 6B?

Just curious what the real difference is between these 2 categories, if anything?  For an upcoming cruise the only difference in the description I can see is 3 vs 4 people.

4 and 6 would both designate double occupancy cabins. Triples and quads are odd numbers.  The letter refers to the size of the cabin with A being larger than B and B being larger than C.  The numbers also designate  location on the ship.  For example on Oasis class 6 and 8 are forward and aft while 2 and 4 are midship.  2 and 6 are higher decks while 4 and 8 are lower.

location location location...  4b is better than 6b

Again, this is HIGHLY subjective.

Some people like to be near the elevators, some like to be away from the elevators.
Some like being high, some like being low.
Some like being forward, some like being aft, some like being midship.
Some like being near the Promenade, some like being near the Pool Deck.
Some like being on the same deck as a bar or eatery, some like to be between two passenger decks.

The rooms themselves are virtually identical within a style of room (inside, outside, balcony, etc.).  The perceived value of a particular location is completely subjective.

Absolutely.  Royal just charges more for the perceived better cabins.

Take a 4D and an 8D on Oasis.  Where they change from one cabin to the other the different categories are side by side yet one cabin is priced a couple hundred more.  Here’s a great example.  Almost $300 more per person for cabins that could be side by side.
