Walk to Carlisle Bay?

Looking for a beach day close to port. Can I walk to the beach at Carlisle Bay from the cruise port? Will there be chairs and umbrellas to rent?

Yes, walk along the waterfront takes about 20-30 minutes.  You can rent chairs & umbrellas at Harbor Lights, Lobster Alive, Boatyard, etc.

Harbor light take reservations to hold your chair/umbrella. 

Most of these places you pay for what you use. (Entire Beach is of course public and free)

Boatyard will take your money, may not be able to give chairs/umbrella  and then refuse to refund money.

If there is light port load then any of the places will be nice (including Boatyard)

 

Some of these places gvae following tip on their website:

Instead of paying 5 USD pp to their facility or walking all the way for free, 

take shared taxi to Hero's square/Parliament for 2 USD pp and then do the short walk (across the bridge)

Agree...that's what we did. 

We took the shared taxi to town...cost $2/person.  Walked across the bridge, then a few more blocks to Pirate's Cove Beach...wow!...simply beautiful.
