Rare Redsky5292 Posted January 13, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2020 My family and I (DH, myself and our six year old B/G Twins) will be sailing on the 5-day Eastern Caribbean Cruise this coming April. I haven't sailed RC in nine years (the last four years we have sailed NCL) so I was wondering how formal the formal night is? We are bringing carry-ons instead of packing larger suitcases so space is limited. TIA!
jsf Posted January 13, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 13, 2020 No such thing as "Formal Nights" anymore, wear whatever you like.
retired dude Posted January 13, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 13, 2020 we sail often on this ship as we live close to tampa.....On a recent 7 day sailing on it, we did in fact have a formal night. I did not see any tuxes on the men or formal gowns on the ladies, but i did see alot of sport coats and a few in suits for the men and the women dressed in nice slacks and semi-formal tops.......The new norm for alot of passengers( mostly the younger ones) is wear what you feel comfortable in.....We were lucky and did not see anyone in flip flops, wife beaters and shorts in the main dining room.....On some of the larger and newer rccl ships formal night is more formal......whatever you wear, just enjoy!!! emory2001 Posted January 13, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2020 We're doing a family spring break sailing on Brilliance in March, and this will be the first time we're not going formal. It's too much work, too much extra stuff in the luggage for it. We're going with "black pants nice."
