knagl Posted January 26, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2020 Hi everyone, Just got back from a week on the Carnival Magic. I didn't play a ton, but managed to rack up just over 2400 points, the vast majority of it on video poker (at $5/point, just over $12k coin-in). On the last night I got an offer in the mailbox on the ship for "35% off casino rate", inside cabins only, with regular rate upgrades available to a balcony or whatever. It offered a small window to book (book within the next week or two), and when I looked online the furthest out I could book was approximately six months from now. We're not planning to go on another cruise for about a year. Does anyone know, if I don't book this offer, will I continue to get similar offers in the future to try and get me to come back, or are these offers typically one and done? If it's the latter, that really provides me a disincentive to play on the ship since we typically only cruise once a year. Thanks in advance for any experiences and first-hand knowledge you may have. MaryZ Posted February 3, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2020 Hopefully you'll get something. If there is a cruise you really like, book it with the 35% off. But actual decent offers you need about 8500 slot points for the week. So based on slot play, you want to hit at least 4000 for the week on video poker. And it also goes by how many people are gamblers as to who gets offers and what you get. Just so you know, that isn't many points for 7 days. fla gang Posted February 4, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2020 I went on the Magic at least two years ago and they send me stuff every week. $450 off room rate and $100 OBC and free drinks!
fla gang Posted February 4, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2020 Most of the stuff I get has a short booking window.

BTHodgeman Posted February 14, 2020 #6 Share Posted February 14, 2020 Nice to see you here on CC! In my experience, yes, you will continue to get additional offers after anything you earned on board expires. We haven't sailed Carnival since 2017, but just booked a cruise for this coming Thanksgiving using a casino offer. The rate wasn't a huge discount, but it was a casino offer that includes $500 free play and Drinks on Us for me +1. For probably 12-18 months, I got offers via e-mail and mail. Now, they come primarily via e-mail, but there is always some sort of casino offer in my account. You can always logon to carnival.com, click "My Profile," and then "My Offers," and you will see anything you have out there. Your casino offers will show up at the top in a section called "VIFP Club Members-Only Offers." I attached what my offers look like - and again, I haven't sailed on Carnival for nearly 3 years.
