We are cruising out of Vancouver, BC. but are flying to Seattle and riding Amtrak from Seattle to Vancouver.  Can anyone recommend Embassy Suites hotel beside the train station, or have any comments about it?  Is it safe and close enough to the train station to walk with luggage at 5 am.  Thanks.

Its a newer Embassy Suites-- its a nice place but it is on the fringe of the main tourist area. Will be a bit of a walk to get to the main sights.

Its not a walk-- its like 25 minutes to walk and in an area with a bunch of overpasses etc. Jump in an Uber.

Just a quick reminder that when you are purchasing your Amtrak ticket that you should make sure that you are purchasing the train ticket to Vancouver, BC and not Vancouver WA.

Folks who don't live in the PNW, may not beware that Amtrak serves two cities named Vancouver - one in Washington State, and the other in British Columbia, Canada.  It is easy to confuse them, and their departure schedule (at least in the morning) is only about 20 minutes apart.

Question, looks like your train leaves King Station at 7:45 AM, why are you walking to the train station at 5 AM?

The Embassy Suites is at King Street Station.  You won’t have any issue rolling your bags.  And it’d only be a 10-15 minute walk up First Ave, to get to PPM.  If I may offer some advice, if anyone is prone to motion sickness, take precautions.  The tracks north of Bellingham seemed to be in poor condition and the ride wasn’t the greatest on the train.
