Vancouver whale tours. I really want to see Orcas

We are on a Alaskan cruise out of Vancouver the end of September. we are planning on coming to Vancouver 2 days prior to cruise. We plan on booking a whale tour in Juneau. However, i have this dream of seeing orcas in the wild. how are the tours out of Vancouver?

Be advised, however, that the resident orcas in the San Juan Islands/Gulf Islands/Victoria/Vancouver area are reportedly under significant stress from human interaction (starvation, falling birth rates etc.) and heightened regulation (or even restrictions) on whale watching are altogether possible.  To be honest, I'd pass on whale chasing in this area for the time being, but it's your call.

We've taken the whale watching excursion thru Princess twice in Juneau and have seen orcas both times.  They're much smaller than I thought as they are actually in the dolphin family.  Good luck!

Thank you. I've been reading about the president orcas. It's so sad. I think I'll skip a tour out of Vancouver. And pray to see some in Juneau

We have never seen orcas in Alaska, but did see Minke whales last year in September on our Alaskan cruise.

If you want to see Orca's in the wild... two suggestions to research.

• make a trip over to Steveston and check out https://vancouverwhalewatch.com/.  There is a downtown shuttle to take you to the Steveston departure point.  The Steveston departure avoids the rough waters and long ride around Stanley Park and the airport.
