MSC Magnifica refused permission to disembark in Hobart

We spent the last 2 weeks in NZ on Ovation & docked in Sydney no problem 2 days ago. seems the story relates more to protection of passengers than them bringing the virus to Tassie.

There are five cases of people tested positive with the virus in the whole of Tasmania!  Seems people can get off the ship but not get back on.

Seems a very strange decision by MSC.  Maybe because it is on a World Cruise.

According to ABC News, some passengers and staff got off and are not returning.  Worried about being stuck at sea.

Yes I saw an interview from one staff member who was glad he got off in Hobart.  He was sharing an inside cabin with someone he didn't know.

Sharing an inside cabin with a stranger is reason not to go at all, let alone get off !!! LOL

I have friends on this cruise. They have had an amazing time so far and can only hope it continues. They are doing a blog and did mention a few upcoming ports that will be cancelled. Hope that Sydney is still an open port.

Hobart was open.  It was a MSC decision to not let passengers who disembarked to reboard the ship.  There was another ship there as well. (Sea Princess)

Now NZ has decided to ban all cruise ships stopping there until June 30th & all travelers from non Pacific nations to self isolate for 14 days on arrival.
