Without laboratory confirmation, there is absolutely no way to determine if a person has been infected with coronavirus vs some other source of pneumonia.  So far in the US, 90% of all the CoVid-19 tests administered have come back negative.  

A trained doctor should be able to tell the difference between a pneumonia vs a head cold ... but he/she has no magical powers to determine what pathogen caused the illness.
