jozie Posted February 7, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2006 I heard some of the ships now have fresh water in their pools instead of salt. The first time I heard this (a while ago) I called Carnival and they said none of the pools was fresh water. Does anyone know if it is on all the ships or maybe the newer ships? HappyCruiser383 Posted February 8, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2006 I think all the pools are salt water because of the amount of times they empty and refill the pools during the day. It would take a really big tank to hold that kind of water. I'm pretty sure that they are filtered to lower the salt concentration though.
jozie Posted February 8, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted February 8, 2006 Thanks for the replies. I was kind of hoping to hear the opposite. I would think it would be easier having a filter and clorinated water rather than filling it up each time. Oh well, thanks again!
HeidiHo Posted February 8, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 8, 2006 All Carnival ships have saltwater pools. I believe Princess has freshwater pools.
joepeka Posted February 8, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 8, 2006 On our HAL cruise in 2004, the pools were fresh water and we were told that the ship had a desalinization system that was used. Don't know if it's true or not but otherwise, that's a lot of fresh water to haul around. All our Carnival cruises have had salt water in the pools.
