Spectrum OTS What's Happening?

Recommended Posts

We are due to sail on Spectrum on 6th September.  It's part of a package holiday booked with a TA.  I've called and emailed the TA and they're telling me it may still go ahead.  It leaves from Chengdu to sail to Japan.  We don't want to do the trip.  In any event, UK doesn't allow non-essential travel, we are both over 70 and husband has underlying medical conditions.  They have deferred final payment to June.  We are in a dilemma what to do.  I've been checking on ***** and other sites and it says for position and it says it is sailing 'For Order'.  Does anyone know what this means, please.

Then cancel and take the FCC. If you want a refund, you will have to wait until RCI cancels the sailing. Under UK rules final payment should not be until 56 days out, or mid-July - more info should be available by then (sailings are for sale for July). The daily movement of the ship may not mean much for long term planning.

Part of the issue may be that it is part of a package trip.  While they might be able to get a FCC from Royal they might not be able to recoup other costs associated with the package.

Exactly Ourusualbeach.  That is the problem.  Since we didn't buy the cruise directly from RCI, the TA have differing terms of sale.  The 56-days as mentioned by Biker19 do not apply.

You can still get the FCC from RCI and then you'll have to fight with the TA for the rest of the costs.

Like Biker said you can still get the FCC from Royal unless it was part of a charter group that has different terms and conditions.  The air, hotel and other things will be a fight with the TA

Yes,  thanks BIker19, I think we might just do that.

Yes, thanks.  Another fight on our hands.  We're still waiting for refund/FCC from HAL for curtailed cruise in March and cancelled flight.  Fingers are crossed for the booked cruise in January on Azamara.

Hi, we were booked on the same cruise but have requested a FCC, could you transfer the rest of the package to another perhaps less risky package in 2022!

That's what we'd prefer, but TA is asking us 'to bear with them' blah blah blah.  Don't think they want to deal with us until we are due to pay final balance.
