klfrodo Posted January 11, 2021 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2021 I've noticed that the schedule for Eurostar trains have dropped to only 2 runs daily between London and Paris. Am I correct in assuming that this is due to the current pandemic and will go back to 4 daily runs once things calm down?
sddsddean Posted January 11, 2021 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2021 Yes. Nearly all public transport companies have reduced their services. National Express coaches have suspended all services until further notice for example. We'll just have to wait until things get back to normal!!! 🤞 Simon

Rare Turtles06 Posted January 15, 2021 #4 Share Posted January 15, 2021 And let's hope these services survive! "Eurostar, the sleek and speedy mode of travel that ties London, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam and other cities, is a shadow of itself, crippled by the pandemic. Its ridership has all but vanished, and its finances are threatened. More than 90 percent of its employees have been furloughed, one of its union said. Its woes reflect a struggle for survival playing out across the European train industry, as the pandemic continues to upend the business of transportation. Like Europe’s airlines, the railway sector is facing its worst crisis in modern history." https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/21/business/eurostar-pandemic-train-europe.html Plus this and similar articles: https://www.brusselstimes.com/news/business/142715/eurostar-has-reportedly-asked-british-government-for-financial-aid/
